Wine tour costs: compare the complete quote

A useful wine tour budget includes transport, tasting experiences, meals, taxes and any required extras. There is no single Canadian tour price: compare current written quotes for the same route, date and group size.

Separate the base fare from the experience

Ask whether the advertised amount pays for transport only or also covers the winery experiences. A standard flight, premium tasting, food pairing and cellar visit can have different inclusions. Do not assume that a bottle purchase replaces a tasting charge or that a credit mentioned by one winery applies at every stop.

Use a consistent comparison

For each offer, record the base tour charge, tasting charges not included, required transport supplements, planned meal, taxes and mandatory service charges. Keep optional bottle purchases and discretionary tips separate. If the provider cannot give an exact optional food amount, ask for the menu or a practical allowance rather than treating it as included.

An illustrative budget, not a price claim

Suppose a fictional group quote is CAD 600 and the group has four people. If separately confirmed tasting charges total CAD 120 and the group chooses a CAD 160 lunch, the subtotal is CAD 880, or CAD 220 each, before any applicable tax or extra charges not already included. These numbers are arithmetic examples, not market rates or an offer. Replace every figure with the company’s current quote.

Check deposits and changing guest numbers

A deposit is part of the payment schedule, not necessarily the complete price. Ask when the balance is due, what happens if someone cancels and whether the tour has a minimum group charge. Keep the refund policy with the quote. The smallest deposit is not automatically the least expensive or most flexible booking.

Know what the platform has confirmed

WineTour.ca’s public enquiries request information and do not charge a card or guarantee a seat. A company’s final offer must establish the price and terms. Until verified live offers provide a current rate, a planning guide should not present an invented “from” price. Compare the written total before accepting and save the final confirmation for your travel day.

Are tasting fees included in wine tours?

Sometimes, but it depends on the offer. Ask which tasting experience is included at each winery and which upgrades, food or additional pours cost extra.
