PEI Wine Tours, Winery Visits & Mead Tastings

Prince Edward Island wine visits include grape and fruit wineries as well as honey-wine experiences. Tourism PEI points visitors toward Rossignol and Newman in the Points East area, and Matos and Island Honey Wine in the Central Coastal area. Choose a part of the island, then confirm the tasting appointment and transport instead of assuming a scheduled multi-winery tour.

Points East

Research Rossignol and Newman when planning a winery outing in eastern PEI. Check each producer’s current visitor arrangements and the actual drive from your accommodation. For a relaxed day, build around confirmed appointments rather than trying to add every island winery.

Winery and honey-wine visits

Central Coastal area

Matos and Island Honey Wine provide different experiences to investigate in the Central Coastal area. Tell your group whether the planned tasting is grape wine or mead. A winery or honey-farm visit can be a destination in itself; transport between the two requires a separate plan.

How to plan your Prince Edward Island wine outing

  • Use Prince Edward Island or PEI in enquiries; Prince Edward County is a different destination in Ontario.
  • Ask whether the booking includes a guided property visit, tasting flight or simply table access.
  • Confirm seasonal hours, group capacity and non-tasting options directly with the producer.
  • Reserve your return transport before the tasting day, particularly if staying outside a town.

Arrange a driver who is not drinking. Ask about accessible transport, the surfaces and entrances at each stop, and options for guests who are not tasting.

Can I visit wineries on Prince Edward Island?

Yes. Tourism PEI lists island wineries and honey-wine producers. Use the official directory to choose a producer, then confirm its current tasting or tour schedule. This guide does not establish availability of a shuttle between wineries.

Is mead the same experience as a vineyard wine tour?

Mead is honey wine. A mead tasting can suit a wine-focused trip, but it should be described clearly so guests know what they are booking. Ask whether the visit includes a farm walk, production explanation or tasting only.
